Alaska Prehospital Education Consortium Awarded National Provisional Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education

Anchorage, Alaska – [Insert Date] – The Alaska Prehospital Education Consortium (APEC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded Provisional Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE). This nationally recognized accreditation affirms APEC’s commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based continuing education for EMS professionals across the state and beyond.

With this new status, APEC is now authorized to offer CAPCE-accredited continuing education courses that meet the rigorous standards required for EMT, Advanced EMT (AEMT), and Paramedic recertification. This milestone further strengthens APEC’s mission to improve the health of all Alaskans by providing accessible, consistent, and high-quality EMS education.

“Receiving CAPCE Provisional Accreditation is a significant step forward for EMS education in Alaska,” said Dane Wallace, Executive Director of APEC. “It ensures that our continuing education programs are recognized nationally and meet the highest standards for recertification, relevance, and instructional quality.”

CAPCE accreditation is the gold standard in EMS continuing education, recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and accepted by EMS licensing agencies across the United States. It signals to students, employers, and regulators that courses offered by APEC meet or exceed national benchmarks for EMS education and continuing professional development.

APEC will immediately begin rolling out a slate of accredited courses designed to support the ongoing education and recertification of Alaska’s EMTs, AEMTs, and paramedics, with both virtual and in-person options available.
